The Herd's Truth: A Sustainable World Without War, Wealth or Walls

The Herds Truth

Before human hands built fences, before wealth and use dictated worth, before war carved borders into the land—horses lived wild and free. So did we.

For millions of years, horses thrived in self-sustaining herds, moving in rhythm with the Earth’s wisdom, untouched by systems of ownership or control. Early humans, too, once lived in deep connection with the land, each other, and the great cycles of life. We lived a nomadic life without borders, without financial hierarchy, without conquest, without the rigid structures and political divides that now define modern civilization.

Domestication has made captives of both species—horses now confined by fences and forced into labor; humans now bound by property lines, financial constraints, and the priorities of politics. But nature has not forgotten the way. Horses still carry in their D.N.A. the truth of a world without greed, war, or exploitation. And somewhere deep within us, so do we.

Join Kim Hallin and the Unbridled herd for a half-day immersive experience like no other (date of next offering TBD)! This interactive workshop offers an opportunity to step outside our human-made constructs and into deep, embodied reflection in the pasture. Kim’s unique style of experiential facilitation with horses does not require the use of our equine friends as tools but honors the truth that we are capable of behaving as equal partners in shifting perspectives. Topics of exploration will include:

  • How wild horses and all of nature thrive without ownership—and what we lost when control replaced coexistence.
  • The captivity of modern life—how both species have been shaped by human systems that strip away agency.
  • What the herd remembers—how horses’ way of being in community offers a blueprint for sustainable peace, balance, and freedom.
  • Unlearning the myth of civilization—releasing the inherited belief that money, war, ownership, and rigid systems of power and control are necessary for organized, sustainable communities.
  • Returning to a wilder wisdom—remembering how to live and die respectfully and responsibly, as part of an interdependent, balanced planet.

No previous horse experience is required to participate in this workshop. You will be asked to leave your pre-conceived notions at the gate and to enter into this experience with an open heart and open mind. The herd knows the way. We may have built fences around them, but the wild within them still calls. Are you courageous enough to find out if it lives on in you too?

Space is limited to 15 participants to ensure an intimate and meaningful experience.

The investment for this workshop is pay-what-you-can within the range of $75–$125. The standard price is $99, but if cost is a barrier, the supported rate of $75 is available.
